how to make a pinhole camera for class 6

We will cover everything you need to know about how to make a pinhole camera for class 6. We'll go over the materials, how it works and how to take pictures with one.

Materials:

- Cardboard box

- A3 paper or larger

- Scissors

- Pencil and ruler (or a compass)    - Glue, tape and identical straws (or empty paper towel or toilet rolls)   - Old shoelace to tie the camera around your neck.

How it work? The pinhole camera works by light coming in through the tiny hole on one side of the camera. We'll go over exactly how this happens in the next section. For now just know that because of this the image is upside down on what you see with our naked eye.

Newsflash: This is a piece about making a pinhole camera for class 6. If you don't like science, don't read on!

If you are curious as to how the camera works and would like to go into more detail please review the material at this point. Or jump ahead and skip ahead to next section where we will go over how to take pictures with it.

How does the camera work?

The pinhole is made by cutting a piece of card out of an old cardboard box. The opening in the box is then taped up so that it takes two straws or two paper towels to cover it entirely. The camera is then turned around so that the straws face outwards. Light is then let in by shining a small torch (under a ruler with a pinhole in it) through the straws and on to the paper.

Materials:  * The pinhole camera is made using an old shoebox and some old cardboard/paper. * Some adhesive tape may be necessary depending on the size of your box. * A small torch which will be used to illuminate the straws. * A ruler with an attachment for a pinhole. * Glue, tape and two identical straws/paper towels (or empty toilet rolls or paper towel) * An image of your choice (which will be upside down when captured by the pinhole camera).

How it work? The pinhole camera is simply made by placing a ruler in the cardboard box, so that when the box is turned it rotates the ruler in such a way that light can come through.

Material: Cardboard box - Any standard sized shoebox should do (I like shoeboxes because they are small, thus easy to store and transport). In this experiment, the box was made from a shoebox by cutting the top off and folding it back on itself. This allows us to place a piece of paper in front of the box, so that light can enter through a small hole in the paper (we will make this during setup).

How it work? In these pictures you can see a card on top of a box which is being turned over. As you can see there are two straws protruding out of the box, one is placed perpendicular to the other. When light falls onto the straws, they become lit and illumination comes through. For full effect take this with your eyes but look at one through your hands.
